This Theorist is all about music to think, feel and wonder with. This first one is an NTS mix we listened to for many hours in 2025 – Dust to Dust: NTS Guide to Ambient Americana. Mac Demarco. One of the most chill but prolific artists of late. He's also now a plumber in his spare time. He's an absolute legend who loves making love songs. After releasing an album with 199 demo tracks, his new LP 'Guitar' was high on our list of most-listened-to albums in 2025. Here's him performing some of the songs from 'Guitar' on KEXP last year  ↴

Lastly, a live set from one of our favourite Australian ambient/dub producers, Alex Albrecht. He's been running the record label 'Annalogue Attic' for over a decade now, releasing records that Mat has been collecting since the label's first release in 2014. This set was recorded live late last year through Naarm-based Skylab Radio  ↴
